What makes Digiprep better

Hi, I’m Alan, founder of Digiprep. I’ve been an SAT teacher for more than 20 years, teaching in the United States, Seoul, Korea, and Shanghai, China, adapted to teaching 3 different SAT versions, and helped thousands of students to 1500+ scores, and let me tell you from experience that doing well on the SAT is NOT easy (if it were then everyone would score 1500+). Combine a very hard test with the extremely demanding parents and students of highly-competitive academic environments in the places I’ve taught at, and you’ll understand the kind of pressure and expectations that turned our SAT program into what I believe is the best on the market.

My students and parents routinely expect 1550, and that kind of score became the standard, with the minimum expected at least above 1500. To ensure at least 1500+, we had to pay attention to every single detail of our course, ensuring that students constantly made score gains from class and homework. We designed the lessons to be foundational but useful for beginner and advanced alike, and progress them over time to be more and more advanced but never too difficult to the point of losing effectiveness. We tracked SAT articles to see what kind of journals the test creators were getting their texts from. We analyzed every minor aspect of students’ performances and assigned them targeted practice for their weak points. I myself broke the Grammar rules down into over 50 distinct concepts!

Once most of our students started scoring 1500 and above, we knew we had a special program that not only worked, but achieved exceptional results for the students who were willing to invest in themselves. I won’t be dishonest and say that our program is easy, and I can’t claim every student gets 1550. But I can guarantee that our SAT program offers students the best opportunity to fulfill their potential and get their target score. Yes, it takes hard work and time. But that’s one of our core principles—you have to put in the work to get the results.

All SAT prep courses fundamentally provide the same thing: Explanations and Practice. The differentiator then comes down to the quantity and quality of those two aspects. Digiprep excels in both because of our unique experiences teaching in 3 different countries: Korea, China, and the United States. Korea is at the top in terms of expectations on students, so academies are highly competitive, and they’ve developed lots of innovative learning methods. Additionally, growing up in the United States has given me insight into how American students think (and how the test creators think) and how to convey those ideas.

SAT Question Quality

When a non-collegeboard SAT prep course or teacher makes questions, the quality is inevitably going to be worse than those made by Collegeboard’s contractors, who have very experienced question designers and who can test those questions out on thousands of SAT students via the experimental “dummy” questions. Most non-professional question-creators  face the challenge of lack of experience and resources in making questions or lack of students to test them out on, or both. A lot of the questions I’ve seen have been poorly designed or flawed in some way. Low-quality questions can do more damage than not studying at all, because they waste students’ time and can lead to misconceptions.

As the founder of Digiprep and creator of all its Reading/Writing questions, I am quite confident that our quality of questions is second to none, other than Collegeboard’s.

Lastly, China’s test prep game is on a whole different level. While we don’t use them in our courses, China does have access to unreleased questions that other students and teachers in other countries don’t have access to. Access to those questions is an advantage in both making questions and explaining them because you have more content material to learn from and a better idea of what concepts are more frequently tested. For instance, I know every single vocab word that has been tested in the last 3 years on the official exams, which assists me with crafting more accurate and effective SAT Vocab questions.

In terms of making questions, our CRAM ultimate package contains more questions than any other prep course I’ve seen—3000+ high-quality questions all inspired by real SAT questions and tested with over 1000 students in our live academy.

Our CORE and CRAM Ultimate packages are self-paced, so you can go as fast or as slow as you want. Digiprep doesn’t run live classes besides our 1-1 tutoring, which can be scheduled at any time that works for the tutor and student.

Alan made the SAT Reading/Writing questions and lessons, and my cofounder made the SAT Math questions and lessons. Combined, we’ve taught the SAT for more than 30 years and led over 1000 students to 1500+ scores.

Digiprep only uses our custom-made questions that you will not find anywhere else. Questions are checked and tested thoroughly with students before being approved. In my opinion, the quality of our questions is probably one of the best, if not the best, out there for any non-Collegeboard questions. Plus, we have the largest question bank out there.

Collegeboard questions run out pretty quickly if you are any serious SAT student. You need more practice to really excel on the SAT, though. Digiprep provides more practice than any student will ever be able to realistically finish and continues to add even more questions monthly. Not only that, but our question quality and explanations break down testing secrets that Bluebook and Khanacademy, being Collegeboard-written, don’t want to share.

It depends. Students with higher starting score will obviously have less of a climb, while students weaker in knowledge/skills may need to invest more time in strengthening those. What we can concretely say is the time for CORE and CRAM courses. CORE Writing and Reading are about 40-60 hours each, which includes working through the textbook lessons and practice questions. CRAM books/courses contain even more practice questions, which can take more than 100 hours to complete, depending on how many questions students want to finish.

There’s no risk with Digiprep SAT courses—if you don’t think our SAT course is the best on the internet, then we’ll fully refund you within 14 days.

We recommend taking CORE as early as Grade 9 or 10. Most students who start SAT in Grade 11 are weak in vocabulary, and there realistically isn’t much time to catch up on vocabulary during junior year. Vocabulary definitely has to be started earlier if one really wants to have no weak points in that area.

Digiprep offers yearly extensions after year 1 for a heavily discounted price, so the best strategy is to start earlier, renew your subscription at a heavy discount until you or your student takes the real SAT in Grade 11 or 12.

You can improve. Let us help.

We’ve helped over 1000 students get their dream scores, students who were beginners, intermediate, and advanced, who spoke different languages or had different academic backgrounds. Our SAT program works, and now we’re sharing it with the world.

You don’t need to be a genius—in fact, some of our highest scorers did not view themselves as being particularly smart.

You don’t need a lot of money—you can master the fundamentals with CORE courses for as little as $33 a month, the equivalent of one week’s worth of coffee at Starbucks.

You don’t need to invest a lot of time—most of the heavy lifting of finding questions, structuring a curriculum, figuring out why certain choices are correct or incorrect, and analyzing weaknesses has already been handled for you. All you need to do is show up and work hard on the lessons.

You DO need a coach if you want to achieve your highest potential. If you want to exceed your normal performance, you have to find people who have done that before and done it consistently. Think of the top athletes in the world, none of whom are self-coached or self-taught. Attaining peak performance is simply too difficult, with too many unknowns and challenges for a single person to take on. That’s what we’re here to do—guide you, save you time, and push you through when you get stuck. We unlock secrets to the SAT for you, secrets that most students would either never figure out on their own or waste hours doing so when they could be spending that time doing things to directly improve their score.

Digiprep’s CORE mission is to help students reach their potential, starting with the SAT. Don’t make the mistake of going it alone—take advantage of Digiprep’s resources to reach fullest potential.
